About the Club

A group of about 120 yacht owners who meet every first Monday at Bells Hotel, South Melbourne. Usually a speaker presents some cruising or other boating info. For example we had a talk last year by the Police Air Wing by the people involved in the rescue of the '98 Sydney/Hobart. More recently a Director of the Pilot Service spoke about bringing ships in to Port Phillip.

Meetings start at 8.00 pm and are finished by 10.00 pm. The Assoc publishes a monthly magazine which is mailed to all members.

We have members who are sailing/cruising all around Australia and have one or two cruising the world.

Members vessels range from 20 foot trailerable yachts to 50 foot yachts and members are of all ages.

Membership is $25 per annum. Many members arrive early for the meetings and eat dinner at the hotel in the company of other cruising friends. This is a low key organisation with high key standards and one that keeps its finger on the pulse of the yachting and boating needs.
