About the Club
Holding its first Regatta in 1837 and with a continuous history from 1879 the Tamar Yacht Club has facilities at the head of the Tamar River in Launceston and a marina and sailing facilities at Beauty Point. The club lays claim to be the oldest yacht club in Australia and carries its proud tradition to the present day.
The Tamar Yacht Club's charter exists primarily for the promotion and encouragement of yachting and the provision of facilities for its members. It is a family club, spouses and children are especially encouraged to articipate in club events and activities.
