Bayview Yacht Racing Association
About the Club
The Bayview Yacht Racing Association was formed in November 1949 when two gentlemen sailed a match race around Lion Island on Sydney's Pittwater (part of Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River systems). The event aroused so much interest and enjoyment that it was decided to form a yachting association, and so BYRA was born.
Today the club enjoys enviable facilites, ideally positioned on the southern shores of Pittwater near Sydney's Northern Beaches. There is ample parking and easy access to the water.
BYRA is a family-friendly sailing club and its members come from all age-groups - from the very-young to the not-so-young. BYRA offers a wide range of sailing including sailing courses, dinghy racing, twilight yacht racing or simply cruising around Pittwater and the Hawkesbury.
