"The first impression of the Taipan is the purity of her lines, which give an instant feeling of pleasant sailing."
Multihull World

The Taipan is one of many Australian designed classes.  They are both  lightweight and very fast.  The Taipan is a very exciting little boat that is suited for regattas and more pleasant outings.

Taipan 4.3

As a design, the Taipan 4.3 is still in the prototype stage. The Taipan 4.3 will be for the beginner or those wishing for an easy to sail catamaran.

Taipan 4.9

The Taipan 4.9 caters for experienced sailors of all ages. An optimum crew weight of 130kg means it is ideal for family teams of husband & wife, father & son/daughter or two teenagers.

Taipan 5.7

The concept behind the Taipan 5.7 was to produce a catamaran that would easily carry large crew weights and yet retain the excellent feel and response of the Taipan 4.9. This of course had to be carried out within length and width that would allow legal towing.  The boat that resulted has been acclaimed by many of Australia's top sailors.

Taipan F18

No information is currently available on the Taipan Formula 18.
