The International Flying Dutchman is a single class two man single trapeze dinghy of 6.05m in length with a 1.8m beam. It's renowned for its speed to windward throughout the sailable wind range. An Olympic class from 1960 until 1992. Raced in 45 countries and all mainland states of Australia.

1951 Preliminary design
1952 The 'Flying Dutchman' name born, suggested by Sir Peter Scott, the then president of the IYRU
1957 Selected to replace the Sharpie at the 1960 Olympic Games in Naples.
1959 The Class President was presented a cup for the 'FD Week'
1960's Fleets in Lebanon, Morocco, Portuguese, East Africa, Argentina, Venezuela, Thailand, apart from those in Europe, North America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
